I took the reference photo for this piece when I was visiting Patara Elephant Farm in Chiang Mai, which is a rescue and conservation centre in Thailand.  I loved spending the day with these wonderful animals, learning about their lives and the incredible dedication the team there had to their care and rehabilitation. 
 
This image particularly struck me as a tender moment between the two elephants, as we headed out on a trek to the nearest river to let the elephants swim (we were supposed to join them, but a sudden torrential downpour turned the river into a raging torrent; the elephants had a wonderful time playing in the rapids, these gentle giants not bothered at all by water which would have swept us away!)
 
I loved portraying this beautiful moment between these gorgeous and highly intelligant animals.  The original painting sold very quickly, with the full amount from the sale donated to the centre, however I am delighted to say these beautiful signed limited editions are still available in 2 sizes.
